New Municipal Law towards Qualitative Governance
CM KCR in a meeting with ministers and dignitaries
Hyderabad, July 6 (News Time): Hon’ble Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that it was through making powerful Acts and their transparent implementation, the government can offer better citizen services to the people. He said qualitative governance is only possible through bringing in changes to the old and archaic Acts. The Chief Minister on Saturday held a review meeting with the Ministers, senior officers on the formulation of new Municipal Act, construction of the new Secretariat etc.,
On the occasion, the CM discussed about the changes to be brought in to the new Municipal Act to strengthen to offer better civil services to the people and make it more effective. The CM has instructed the officials to discuss at length the changes and additions to be made to the Act.
In the meeting, Ministers Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, Koppula Eshwar, Srinivas Goud, Government Whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Government Chief Advisor Rajeev Sharma, Chief Secretary Dr. SK Joshi, CM Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, Principal Secretaries Ramakrishna Rao, Adhar Sinha, Sunil Sharma, Secretaries, Ms. Smita Sabharwal, Bhoopal Reddy, Engineer-in-chief R&B Ganapathi Reddy and others participated.
The CM, who reviewed about the New Municipal Act, later reviewed the progress of works going on the proposed new secretariat-building complex, to which he had laid a foundation stone recently. The CM discussed with the minister concerned and officers about the time frame in which the old structures at the secretariat to be removed replacing with the new ones. He also discussed with them on how to make the new secretariat building complex more beautiful, comfortable with all the modern features.
